1. General Terms

Foreigners entering and exiting Vietnam must have a passport or a valid document in lieu of a passport (hereinafter referred to as passport) and must obtain a visa issued by a competent Vietnamese state agency. 2. Documents submitted at the Embassy of Vietnam include:

– 01 Visa application form with photo.

– Passport or valid document in lieu of passport (hereinafter referred to as passport).

– Written approval notice of Immigration Department or Consular Department, Department of Foreign Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City.

– For visitors who enter under the visa category NG3, NG4 can submit a Note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the host country / concurrently or a note from the diplomatic mission or consular office of the country. outside the home country.

Note:

Foreigners need to (i) contact agencies, organizations and individuals inviting or guaranteeing in Vietnam to carry out procedures to apply for visa approval from the Immigration Department (Ministry of Public Security) or the Consular Department, Department of Foreign Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) or (ii) contact the Civil Service for guidance.

The remaining validity period of the passport must be at least 1 month longer than the validity period of the visa applied for. However, many airlines require passports to be valid for at least 6 months before boarding.

For overseas Vietnamese to visit relatives without a passport, if they bring a document issued by a competent foreign agency that is valid for entry and exit and the sample of such document has been officially notified.
